In the preschool room we are going to trial a free flow system where the children can choose between being indoors or outdoors between a certain time of the day. This lets the children make the decision on if they would like to be outside or inside and when, depending on what they want to do. To begin with, we are trialing it for an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon to see how the children get on with it.
At the minute the children seem to really enjoy the independence of free flowing.
Some of the benefits of free flow… - Encourages independence - Putting the decision in the children hands - Progressing at their own pace - Physical wellbeing - Greater sense of freedom
Welcome to our new 0-2’s sleep room. We have pondered with the thought of having a separate sleep room for a while and thought now is a better time than ever.
We wanted to make is as homely as possible for the children in our care to feel comfortable. We pride ourselves in being a home from home for the children and this room mirrors that. In the sleep room there is some spaces to sleep, a nursing chair and a few toys to play with when the children are waking up or trying to relax.
My favourite bit has to be the black and white tee-pee area. There’s heaps of information available about babies being stimulated by both black and white, of course this is the reason why we have this area, but doesn’t it just look so inviting and cozy?
